Incomplete grades are granted when a learner hasn’t finished their coursework by the course end date, but can complete the remaining assignments independently. Upon request, an instructor may grant an incomplete to you due to unforeseen or extenuating circumstances (i.e., reasonable situations which prevented you from finishing the course on time). Then, once coursework is finished, your instructor will assign a final grade.
Permitting a grade of “incomplete” is at the discretion of your instructor. And it’s always important to discuss alternative options with them prior to requesting an incomplete.
Please note: Discussions are not included in an incomplete and must be submitted by the appropriate deadline listed in the courseroom. In addition, participation requirements will still apply.
