Congratulations on receiving multiple offers! This puts you in a seat of power when it comes to negotiating the final offer. As you evaluate the offers consider more than just the salary. Also consider:
- Commute time and distance
- Time off
- Hours
- Insurance benefits
- Retirement package
- Alignment of company and your values
Based on this information, you can hopefully identify the offer that is more appealing to you. You can use some of the details from this to negotiate with the other company to see if they can match or beat it. Alternatively, you can share with your preferred company that you have an offer on the table, without providing specifics.
How you use this information depends on your level of interest in one or both positions and your openness to risk. Few employers will rescind an offer due to negotiation, but some might choose to. If you have another offer to fall back on, though, you can decide if it is worth the risk.
