Your contract and temporary work has likely provided valuable experience that you want to include on a resume. However, if the projects or contracts were short in duration, including them in the traditional format may concern an employer who is looking for a candidate who will stay and contribute to the company. One solution is to include “Contract Consultant” or “Temporary Employee” as a header above the individual work experiences. Additionally, you could include the full span of time of all contract/temporary jobs next to that header and then list your projects/assignments separately underneath that header without dates. This can allow you to demonstrate the accomplishments for each position without the employer focusing on the short-term dates of employment.
