It depends! Because you have limited space to work with on your resume, it is important to be strategic with the content you choose to include. Each piece of information on your resume should provide supporting evidence as to why you are a good fit for the specific position.   Unless your hobby holds some relevance to the position that you are applying for, or can be used to demonstrate a transferable skill, I recommend leaving it off. Also it’s best to leave off any mention of any potentially divisive topics, such as affiliations with political organizations or participation in religious activities. Although these are often important aspects of individuals’ personal lives, your goal on your resume is to describe yourself through a neutral, professional lens.

If you do determine that it would be appropriate to include details of a hobby, focus on the aspects that relate to the future position. For example, when applying for a position that is looking for a candidate with experience fundraising, you might include details about the successful fundraising event you organized for the local choir you participate in.
