Recruiters within organizations are typically working to fill many open positions. To help manage these multiple job descriptions and the resumes submitted for these positions, some companies use a software package.  Applicant Tracking Software (ATS) can make communication with the job candidates easier, such as sending emailed notices of receipt of resume. It can also assist in the initial screening of candidates based on keywords and minimum criteria (i.e., experience or skills) set by the organization.
