Once you have completed the IRB application through IRBManager, click next, and you'll reach a page with three options: Save for later, print, submit. Click on the box that says submit. You'll receive a confirmation that your application was submitted.

If further information is needed, the IRB Application will be returned to you with notes about what you need to provide.  If no further information is needed, the IRB Application will be assigned for review and you will be notified that the IRB review is underway.

To share your IRB Application with your mentor/faculty instructor, you will use the 'Collaborate' feature on the IRB Application. When starting a new IRB application, the 'Collaborate' feature is located at the top of the form and will allow your mentor/faculty instructor direct access to the IRB Application. See attached job aid for instructions on how to use this feature.

You can also create a PDF version of the IRB Application to save and share with your mentor/faculty instructor. To create the PDF,  click the “More” button at the bottom of any page in the IRB Application and then select "View as PDF".  You will be asked to save the PDF version to your computer and you can select where the form is saved.  To share the form you can then locate the PDF on your computer and share it as an attachment in an email to your mentor/faculty instructor.  Be advised that your mentor can also access the attachments on your IRB Application by clicking on the links on the PDF. After reviewing your IRB materials, your mentor/faculty instructor can then provide you with feedback about the IRB Application.

Note that you will still need to submit the IRB Application in IRB Manager after implementing any changes or suggestions made by your mentor/faculty instructor. Be sure that you have thoroughly reviewed your IRB Application and are ready and eligible for IRB review before you submit your IRB Application. If you have questions about the IRB Application submission process, contact the IRB Office at irb@capella.edu.
