You may not begin study procedures, including recruitment and consenting of participants until after you have received IRB approval. You will receive notification of full IRB approval. Note that if your study was approved with conditions, you may not begin recruitment and data collection. The study status will change to ‘Approved’ and you will receive an IRB approval letter via email from the IRB. A copy of this letter is also available within IRBManager.

If you study status does not say ‘Approved’ you do not have IRB approval and may not begin study procedures. Conducting study activities without IRB approval is a violation of federal regulations and Capella policies. If you engage in research activities before approval, contact the IRB immediately and cease any activities. An inquiry will be conduct to determine if any actions are needed to remediate the non-compliance.
