You have the option of using statisticians and methodologists to help you analyze data. However, you are responsible for both the analysis and final conclusions, and must be able to fully explain both. It is important that you check with your school to ensure that your program allows the use of an outside consultant to assist with data analysis.

The use of a transcriptionist to transcribe your interviews with participants is allowable. However, your transcriptionist may only transcribe your interview. The transcriptionist may not write any part of your dissertation or analyze your data. You must also receive your tapes back from the transcriptionist after the work is done.

Before enlisting a Research Assistant, consultant, or transcriptionist, you must ensure that they sign a confidentiality agreement. If your RAs, consultants, or transcriptionist do not have their own services agreement or confidentiality agreement for use, use the one below.
