As part of Capella University’s commitment to quality and integrity, the university conducts audits into doctoral research. Audits are generally conducted in the later milestones after data collection and the final draft of the dissertation/doctoral capstone project is complete.
The potential for an audit is disclosed in the IRB Decision letter (or NHSR Determination Letter), as well as the Research Integrity Protection SOPs and the Capella University CITI Module. Note that receiving notice that your study is being audits is not an allegation of wrongdoing.
You are required to comply with the audit and submit the information /study materials requested in the Audit Form. You may continue in the milestone process through the final defense call (this milestone will vary by program, but for many will be milestone 13) while the audit is in progress, but may not finish your degree program until the audit is completed. Note that the audit affects the milestones for Capstone learners and DBA learners differently. Learners audited in these programs should consult with doctoral support for further information.
To comply with the audit, click the link to the Audit Form in the email you received. Provide the information requested and submit. You will receive a confirmation email once your Audit Form has been successfully submitted for review. The expected turn-around time for review once the Audit Form is submitted is 10-14 business days (excludes week-ends and holiday). It is important that you comply with the audit in a timely fashion as delays in submitting can extend the duration of the audit.
