Past due balance: A balance that was due prior to today.

Capella may apply excess financial aid disbursements to past-due balances automatically to resolve financial aid eligible charges. Balances that remain unresolved may be referred to collections.

Current balance: A balance is due within 0-30 days.

Future balance: A balance is due 31 days or more from the date of charge.

Most commonly Future charges represent your tuition for the upcoming quarter. Federal financial aid will not apply to these charges until they convert to "current charges".
