Scholarships: You are able to apply for Capella-offered Scholarships and Grants. If you do not qualify for any Capella scholarships, you can also find resources available for researching outside scholarships here.

Tuition Assistance: Some employers offer tuition assistance/reimbursement options for educational expenses. This is a great way for learners to pay for school without accruing loan debt. (Please note: If you are using other forms of financial aid, any amount of tuition assistance/reimbursement you are receiving must be reported to Capella’s Financial Aid Support Team.)

Federal Financial Aid: The government offers several financial aid options, the most common type being loans. Gift aid options such as grants or federal work study, which do not require repayment may also be available. You can learn more about the Types of Financial Aid and review the Student Aid website for more information. (Please note: Capella University does not participate in the Perkins Loan program.)

Federal Work Study: The Federal Work Study Program (FWS) provides part-time employment to learners with financial need. Federal Work Study funds do not disburse like other forms of federal aid. They are paid out on a bi-weekly basis as a paycheck for hours worked. You can learn more about the Types of Financial Aid and review the Student Aid website for more information.

Non-federal loans: If you wish to utilize a non-federal or private student loan, we highly recommend contacting the Financial Aid Support Team first to confirm you do not have any additional federal aid options. To learn more about your non-federal loan options, please review the Types of Financial Aid available.
