Verification is a process used to verify that the information submitted on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is correct.

The U.S. Department of Education (ED) selects some learners for verification. Capella University selects others because of discrepancies in information.

If you have been selected for verification, we will ask you to provide additional information to continue processing your financial aid application. This process helps ensure that both Capella and ED have accurate information and that you have access to all the aid you are eligible for.

For more information, visit the Verification Process Campus page or watch the What is verification? video.
