Your financial aid may be canceled for several different reasons:

A Change in Enrollment

  • Less than half-time enrollment- Per federal regulations, learners must be enrolled at least half-time in order to be eligible for federal loans. If you are not enrolled at least half-time, any offered federal loans may be canceled.
  • Graduation- If you graduate, any pending awards will be canceled. If you update your graduation date, we may cancel any offered funding you have for any quarters following your updated graduate date.
  • Withdrawal- If you withdraw or leave Capella, we will cancel your pending awards.

Financial Aid Ineligibility

  • FASAP- You may not be meeting the academic requirements for financial aid eligibility.
  • Borrowing Limits- You may have met either your annual or lifetime direct loan limit.
  • Defaulted federal loan- We may have received an update that you have one or more existing loans in default.
