All programs

You should understand the academic and financial impacts of taking time off from school.

If you have taken time off in your program, you may have used up your loan grace period. Check with your lender before taking time off to see if you will need to make a student loan payment while taking time off.

Contact your academic coach to discuss whether registering for a term of inactivity is appropriate for you.

FlexPath

Consult with your FlexPath coach regarding breaks in enrollment, as this may have an impact on your financial aid. If you drop to 0 program points - whether by withdrawing, being dropped from a course, or completing one course and not enrolling in another - you may have your financial aid disbursement returned to the lender per the Return to Title IV (R2T4) Policy.  When aid is returned to the  Department of Education, the disbursement originally paid for your tuition, fees, and refunds is reversed, creating a new balance on your Capella account.

If you are inactive in courses for 28 consecutive days, you will be automatically withdrawn from that course. Review the course registration policy for more details.
