Sometimes you will not get good results in ERIC using your own keywords. Try using the ERIC Thesauraus for improved results. 

ERIC classifies articles by using a specialized controlled vocabulary it has designed over many years. This vocabulary list is available under the Thesaurus link at the top of the ERIC search screen.

The special terms you find in the thesaurus can be used in a subject search. To do this type of search, type in the term from the ERIC Thesaurus in your search box and change the drop down menu across from the search box to SU Descriptors.
