Here's how to cite sources that are only available on Capella's Courseroom or Campus.

EXAMPLES - in-text citations:

  • Capella University (n.d.) promotes paraphrasing techniques to support learners as they write their academic texts.
  • Dr. Thompson (as cited by Capella University, n.d.) claimed that interprofessionalism is valuable to all types of organizations, not only healthcare.
  • The mission of Riverbend City is to develop collaborative practices (Capella University, n.d.).

EXAMPLES - reference list:

Capella University. (n.d.). Direct quoting, paraphrasing, summarizing.

NOTE: If students are writing for course purposes only, where everyone in the course has access to the same materials, then it is acceptable to cite these sources in text and in the reference list.

  • However, if students have intentions to publish a text outside of Capella, it is important for students to remember that they should either not cite these sources or they should be cited as personal communications.
  • Materials that are only available to Capella-affiliated populations should be cited as personal communications (APA 7th Edition Publication Manual Section, 8.8) and generally would not be cited in the references list.
