Disclosing your military service is a personal preference, and should be addressed in a manner that you are comfortable with and that is appropriate to the course discussion.  Many times, learners share this during the “Welcome and Introduction” discussion, commonly found in your course syllabus.

Be proud of your military service; sharing an applicable military experience with your classmates and instructor may give insight to your opinion and further the conversation. However, you should avoid attempts to leverage your military status to request exceptions.
