Quite simply, a summative annotated bibliography provides an appropriately cited bibliographic entry along with a short paragraph (3-4 sentence) summary of the author’s main ideas.  An “evaluative” annotated bibliography is the same as the above, but with the addition of the researcher’s detailed judgements (either positive or negative) about the source material and its quality.
