Writing Coaches work within Capella’s Writing Center. The Writing Coach team is made up of PhD Candidate learner staff, permanent staff, and Capella Faculty. Writing Coaches provide learners with one-on-one and one-to-many writing instruction so that learners can better meet their writing goals.

There are several ways to get in touch with a Writing Coach.

One-on-One Support

If you are seeking a one-on-one appointment, you can ask your instructor for a referral to a Writing Coach. You can also schedule your own one-hour appointment for a one-on-one session with a Writing Coach. One-on-One Coaching > Schedule an Appointment Now > Schedule a 1:1 Meeting in Capella Connect. On your first visit you’ll create a new account that’s connected to your Capella login, and a profile to customize your view.

One-to-Many Support

Consider dropping in to the Writing Studio during a regularly scheduled session, where a Capella Writing Coach provides an unstructured space for learners to ask writing questions and discuss writing topics. Writing Studio sessions are open to many learners at one time, and no appointment is necessary.

Attend a Writing Workshop led by Capella Writing Coaches and Faculty. While workshop topics are pre-planned, the workshops are live sessions that allow for interaction between presenters and learners who attend. Interaction and questions are encouraged!
