You need to be actively enrolled in courses in your degree program and all of your financial aid documents need to be complete before funds can be disburse. Only funds that you have accepted will be disbursed. You will also need to meet the requirements for your program below.

  • GuidedPath learners must post in their courseroom within the first two weeks of courses, and be registered at least half time in your program. Financial aid is typically disbursed starting in the middle of the third week of the course.
  • FlexPath Model A learners must set target dates for each class in the first week. Financial aid is typically disbursed shortly after Days 16 and 170 of the payment periods. **
  • FlexPath Model B learners must be enrolled half time for graduate learners and either half time or full time for undergraduates. To receive a disbursement in a billing session, learners must be enrolled and participating in a unique course. Learners cannot be enrolled in the same course over multiple billing sessions and receive financiala id disbursements..[CT1] **

When funds disburse:

  • You will get a disbursement email from the Department of Education.
  • Once received, Capella will post the funds to your account within one to three business days.
  • Within seven calendar days,* Capella will process your financial aid refund (if you are due to receive one).
  • If you have not done so already, you can set up direct deposit.

*Please add an additional three business days to process a direct deposit refund and five to seven business days when receiving a refund by mail.
