If you have taken out federal student loans, you are required by federal regulations to complete exit loan counseling any time that you are registered in a course load that is less than half-time. You will receive an exit loan counseling notification even if you intend to resume courses in the future. For example, you may receive this notification if you are in a quarter of inactivity, only taking a second session course, or graduating.

We recommend that you complete the counseling, since it contains useful reminders about your loan requirements. If you don’t complete the counseling, we will send one addition reminder, but your financial aid eligibility and future enrollment will not be affected.
